On the football games when a designed pass play goes wrong and the quarterback ends up scrambling because everyone is covered the result should be pass scramble and the players that picked pass should get the generic 100 points. As it is now the people that pick run get the points?
Other than that I love the points system.
Thanks
Mace

i agree with this post, the play is a pass play that just got broken up because of good coverage or poor blocking , it should not be counted as a run, other then that all is ok with me

even though it's a pass play...did the quarterback pass the ball? it's more than just predicting what should happen, but you have to also factor in the defense and is most likely to happen.
think of it this way. it's 3rd and 18 and they obviously need a long pass play to keep the drive alive. the defense is showing no signs of a blitz, just dime package coverage. the offense has in 4 wide receiver set but none of them get open, so what do they do? they drop it off to the running back for 5 yards, and what should've been a long pass ended up being a short pass for 10 yards. that's the same thing with your complaint. what should've been a pass ended up being a run by the quarterback. i see absolutely nothing wrong with the way it's called.
in the situation above, if you have a mobile qb and a stifling defense then it might be a good idea to call a run with the qb.
einstein broke it down in another post a couple of weeks ago. it's how the yardage was gained. was the yardage gained by a pass or a run? since there's no way to call "pass, run, quarterback" they have to just go with run, since the ball was ran. no matter what the offense planned to do, what happened was a run, and that is what this game is all about. the tricky thing is if the qb attempts to run and doesn't cross the scrimmage then it's a sack and remains a pass.
or here's another way to think about it. in a halfback option he can either run or pass the ball. well in essence the quarterback has that same option on every pass play. cuz if there is no pass open and there's an opening to run he will run, which is the same option the halfback has on his option. luckily in a game we don't have to pick who throws the ball, just where the throw is going.
so basically at airplay it is what it is, a run is a run and a pass is a pass. if the qb doesn't pass the ball how could airplay call it a pass play?

313 covered the subject thoroughly, I would only add that in the official game stats a quarterback who scrambles is also credited for rushing yards.

Yeah but one problem I have is what's the difference between a short pass and a long pass? They need to let us know. I mean I'm having alot of problems in this area.
Example: Let's say the QB throws a pass for 8 yards. They call it a long pass. Ok on another play the QB throws a pass for 8 yards again but this time it's call a short pass. They really need to fix this problem. I say anything 10 yards or less should be a short pass. Anything 11 yards and over would be a long pass. Now how hard is that?

Bt have you read the rules and game breakdown? It's already defined and it comes down to human error. Things happen and it happens to everyone. When you picked pass short, it goes just short of the first down marker on a 2nd and 8 and it's obvious that it went short and the produced calls it long, sure it sucks. "But look at it this way, another 500 of us got screwed to so it's not like it affects the outcome because although some people won't admit it you also get points on bad calls too. You know you have called pass long and saw it went short of the yardage marker and got the points, or maybe it hit the recievers hands up high and flew another ten yards and it went long when it was really short. It all balances out in the end.
I play football harder than anyone on airplay, Im switching games every play watching multiple games at once and so just by that fact I get screwed more than anyone because I play more games than anyone. I vent once and awhile but in the end I really know its fair, I got over it, and ultimatly love everything airplay does for us and could never thank them enough.
313 makes a great point and under the rules he is totally right. The one feeling I have that is difference than him is he is playing "what just happened football" while I am playing "call the play football" I do believe that when a pass play breaks down and the qb falls forward for 1 yard after pressure that if you called a pass play you shouldnt be penalized becuase you "called the play" straight from the offensive coordinator. I still take pride that I called the play sent in even if I don't get points from it. They honestly should change the name of the game to "what the heck just happened football" but that just doesn't roll off the tongue now does it. So while playing just think of it under that name and it will ease some of your pain, LOL....

yes pass scrambles should be called, and I get docked for -20 for failed blitz calls by airplay. Sea vs Was seattle blitzes and sacks quarterback and no blitz bonus but they didnt miss docking me -20 for the call

There should be a pass scramble call. Its next to impossible to predict whether a QB might end up running out of the pocket on a pass play. Calling a run when a QB scrambles on a pass play is asinine. If you want people to play this game over NTN's QB1 game that needs to be changed.

the bottom line is we are calling plays based on what actually happens, not the intent

Then how is a sack considered a pass play... or if the qb fumbles the handoff and is buried before throwing or running?

qb sacks are baked into the game as pass plays and are not controlled by play callers. likewise, a botched snap or any play in which the qb goes down behind the line of scrimmage is also called a sack.

1.get a rule book 2.qb draw is a run if the qb cocks his arm to throw in any motion it is considered a pass scramble but on the socre sheet it will be shown as a rushing play.3 do the callers even know what a blitz is some moreon caller told me there had to be 5 players rushing for a blitz and i said are u a moron if a saftey blitz comes means a strong saftey is blitzing thats one guy if u dont know anything about football why are u refing a football game.4 airplay invest in a playbook for your callers and guidelines to what is what.5 play calling u put in pass short wayne double its exactly the play and your caller puts in pass short whats up with that 6 run middle with barber today in dallas game it was j jones not barber and caller did not change the call.could u please get some callers who know the game cause from what i have seen u have some rookies working who have no clue what a blitz is the figure if not everyone is coming its not a blitz.im just curious do u have anyone with the knowledge of sports or are they all to busy eating bons bons on the couch watching big brothers.

oh yea einstien the intent u make no sense if the coach sends in a pass play and a zone is on and everyone is covered and he has a big dude on him about to eat him for lunch hes going to run for his life but it is not a set run play now is it.if that was the case every intent would be to score a touchdown but it wont happen that way will it but we can debate it all u like.i mean lets be serious u got adrian peterson in the back fireld why u going t o have the qb1 run the ball on a set pass play come on now einstien u know better then that now.

overall, the issue is that we the players-your sponsors customers, are calling intent, and airplay calls actual?
Airplay, why not make it the way most of us want it? what difference does it make to you? it will make us happy, we will keep playing your system, and, seeing you sponsors ads while doing so.
